Tip Tuesday – Vote!
100 years ago today, on August 18, 1920, the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution granted American women the right to vote. And 55 years ago, LBJ signed into law the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which gave every US citizen the right to vote.
But historically, less than half of the population actually votes, even in presidential elections. This year is the time to educate yourself on the issues that matter to you and cast YOUR vote. Go to this site to get more information about eligibility, registration, absentee and early voting, and more.
If you anticipate not wanting to go to an actual polling station because of COVID, then ACT NOW to request your absentee ballot. And remember, you don’t HAVE to mail it back. You can drop off your ballot, usually where early voting occurs in your County, but check in advance to make sure.
