Tip Tuesday – Donating During Times of Disease

While you’re stuck at home with “found time,” getting organized may be one of your main goals. But what to do with your “dignity-worthy” donations?
Ideally, you will find somewhere in your home to store these items for future giving. If there is no corner, closet, or indoor location available, perhaps put donations in the trunk of your car? If you can wait, check here to find out if/when your local GoodWill and GreenDrop are accepting donations again.
I realize that not everyone has the luxury of space or a vehicle. If so, the other solution is to mail donations off. First, please, box up and seal your items up tight and then wait a few days to send them. This is to ensure you don’t pass on any unintended infections when you are passing along your charity items.
When you are ready to donate, here are some resources:
Use Give Back Box. Just recycle a cardboard shipping box, fill it with clothing or household goods, and use the FREE mailing label to send it back.
Try the Prison Book Program to donate paperback books to prisoners in your state.
Donate to ThredUp and give $15 for each bag or box to Feed America. The easiest option is to print your shipping label at home.
*I hope these ideas help you to donate during these times of disease. IF you want even more instructions join me TONIGHT, April 7th at 8:00 PM EST for an ENCORE master class: “Expert Ideas to Organize Your Home.”
This master class was filled to 100-person capacity last week so I am presenting it again for those of you who could not join. With a presentation filled with fun before-and-after photos, I will provide you with fantastic tips that you can implement right away in YOUR own home. Calm the chaos and create the serene, stress-free space that you dream of!
