Tip Tuesday – Be Closet Conscious
Getting Dressed. We (hopefully!) all do it every day, so why can it be such a struggle? Do you find yourself wasting an hour trying on four different outfits only to end up wearing your favorite pair of jeans and a simple sweater?
To make this daily task easy–maybe even enjoyable!–I encourage you to be closet conscious. Closet consciousness begins with clearing out and donating unused items (see last week’s tip), but what then?
Personally, I’m intrigued by Project 333. It’s “the minimalist fashion challenge that invites you to dress with 33 items or less for 3 months.” Even if you don’t limit your garments to just 33 (don’t worry, pajamas, undergarments, and workout wear don’t count!) consider putting a LIMIT on what you keep in your closet to make it easier to dress yourself every day.
Also see my backward hanger closet tip, which shows you which clothes you haven’t worn at the end of a season. These unworn items can be immediately purged from your wardrobe. This hanger tip will be especially handy as you switch over your clothes for spring!
Let me know if you’re on board with Project 333, and I hope you give it a shot! You might find yourself shaving precious time off your morning routine, and loving your new minimalist style.
