Tip Tuesday – Four Gift Guideline

2020 will bring us a holiday season unlike any other. Perhaps THIS year is a perfect time to “eliminate the excess” by adopting the Four Gift Guideline? These four gifts can be as extravagant or simple as you want, but, because they are limited and thoughtfully chosen, they will truly be enjoyed and they will NOT become clutter. Bonus points if they are themed around an interest!
For Anyone: One gift you WANT, one you NEED, one to WEAR, and one to READ.
An example for someone who works from home:
WANT = Bose noise-canceling headphones,
NEED = an elegant desk chair,
WEAR = a warm sweater/blazer, and
READ = a “Bucket List” book.
Or: Someone to MEET, something to EAT, something to WEAR, and something not THERE:
For a grandparent:
MEET = an easy video/photo frame,
EAT = a soup-of-the-month club,
WEAR= comfortable slippers,
NOT THERE = a donation to their favorite charity!
For Kids: Something COOL, something for SCHOOL, something to WEAR, and something to SHARE.
For a 9-year-old child:
COOL = a 3D puzzle,
SCHOOL = a better desk light,
WEAR = Slip-on Sneakers, and
SHARE = A fun, new board game.
Perhaps adopting the Four Gift Guideline will allow you and your family to scale back and enjoy what really matters this holiday season! Let me know your thoughts in my FB Group!
